7/14/2010 - Severe obstructive sleep apnea linked to heart problems in middle-aged men
Moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can significantly increase the risk of heart disease and heart failure among middle aged and older men under the age of 70, according to a new study published in the July 12 issue of Circulation.
7/8/2010 - Study: Expensive lung disease treatment offers no benefits
The costly treatment often utilized to prevent the adverse affects associated with the genetic disorder called alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency has no proven clinical benefit, and may actually do more harm than good, according to a study published in volume 7 of this year's Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.
