A Message from Our Founder and CEO

In 1994, I founded Pri-Med with my partner, Jack Connors. Jack and I sold the company in 2004 and I stayed on to run Pri-Med until early 2007 when I stepped down for personal reasons. Now, nearly four years later, I find myself in a very exciting position to go back to the future. Diversified Business Communications asked my team and me to reinvest alongside them to buy back Pri-Med. We have since completed the acquisition in late November 2011, and with your help and input, Pri-Med will continue to evolve to meet the ever changing needs of patient care.

Pri-Med was founded on the premise that healthcare knowledge is global but the delivery of healthcare is local. Therefore, to improve patient care it must be done one marketplace at a time. While this foundation is still true, healthcare has continued to evolve, and therefore so must Pri-Med. Today is the age of accountable and collaborative patient care where all stakeholders (patients, doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, hospitalists, and others) must work together to optimize outcomes.

Pri-Med will continue to evolve

To begin Pri-Med’s evolution, pilot programs will be developed and delivered throughout 2012 to explore how to best educate the team. Pri-Med will first explore how to best educate PCPs and specialists together. To this end, a pilot program will be created around cardiometabolic diseases whereby PCPs, cardiologists and endocrinologists will be taught in a co-located and integrated educational setting. When successful, Pri-Med will expand this collaborative model into each geographic market served, to include ten to twelve specialty areas. The goal is to promote and enhance communication between and among PCPs, specialists and patients in order to improve patient outcomes. Further, our vision for the live meeting also extends online with Pri-Med.com by focusing on adding even more quality education tailored to meet the needs of your practice and patients.

Your support of Pri-Med is very much appreciated. Please email me at telltheceo@pri-med.com with comments or suggestions about how we can improve Pri-Med, and by extension, improve patient care.

It is good to be home.
