Biography

Dr. Berry completed her pre-doctoral internship at Texas Children’s Hospital and obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut in 2009. During her doctoral training, Dr. Berry served as a research assistant on a project investigating the M-CHAT as a screening measure for ASD in toddlers under the supervision of Deborah Fein, PhD. In 2011, Dr. Berry completed a two-year fellowship in autism and neuropsychology at the Center for Autism Research at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she also participated in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) fellowship program. Before joining the BCM faculty in April 2012, Dr. Berry worked as a pediatric neuropsychologist and scientist at CHOP's Center for Autism Research, where she was involved in several multi-site ASD research projects, including the Infant Brain Imaging Study and the Autism Treatment Network. Currently, Dr. Berry is the Associate Director of Clinical Services for the Autism Center at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she provides clinical assessments, is actively involved in autism-focused research, supervises psychology interns and fellows, and participates in training developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellows, pediatric residents, psychiatry interns and fellows, and elective medical students. Dr. Berry has co-authored several manuscripts on early screening for ASD and other ASD-related topics, including outcomes of children diagnosed with ASD at a young age, and anxiety symptoms in youth with ASD.
