Biography

Louis Bonavita Jr, MD attended the SUNY Upstate School of Medicine in Syracuse, NY and graduated Cum Laude in 1988, also receiving the Bruce Farrell Memorial Award for Medical Excellence and was elected into the AOA honor society. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA in 1991. He was elected Chief Resident and received the Society of Family Medicine Teaching Award. Dr Bonavita is a founding partner of CNY Family Care in East Syracuse, NY and actively teaches medical students and residents in Family Medicine. He is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at SUNY Upstate and an Attending Physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He is a member of the AAFP and admitted as a Fellow in the Board of Family Medicine. He has been in private practice for the last 32 years.
