Sidney Stuart Braman, M.D., F.C.C.P., joined the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine as Professor of Medicine in January, 2012. He began his academic career at The Alpert Medical School of Brown University achieving the rank of Professor of Medicine in 1989 and remaining in this position until 2011. He was the Division Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at The Rhode Island Hospital, Brown's major university teaching hospital and at Brown Medical School where he served in this position until 2009. Dr Braman is the recipient of the ACCP GSK Distinguished Scholar in Respiratory Health Award. Dr Braman is a past-President of the American College of Chest Physicians and Trustee of the CHEST Foundation. He is author or co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and many book chapters. His major academic interests are COPD and asthma.
