Dr. Angela Catic is an academic geriatrician with a career focus on education and models of care. During her tenure at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, she was the recipient of a Hartford Center for Excellence Research Fellowship Award and two Geriatric Academic Career Awards. These awards focused on developing, implementing, and assessing innovative curricula and models of care for multidisciplinary learners. The subject matter of her work included geriatric pain management; delirium prevention and management; and transitions of care. Additional models of care activities included establishing an advanced dementia consult service and geriatric tele-education program (ECHO-AGE) focusing on behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia in long-term care. Since transitioning to Baylor College of Medicine in 2014, Dr. Catic has assumed directorship of the geriatric medicine fellowship and serves as the educational advisor for the Michael E. DeBakey PA geriatrics residency program. She directs the geriatric outpatient clinic at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center where she has also implemented geriatric e-consults, a dementia focused geriatric ECHO program, and a geriatric dementia clinic.
