Biography

Akshay Desai is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Heart Failure Disease Management in the Advanced Heart Disease Section of the Cardiovascular Division, Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH, Boston, Massachusetts). His past studies include training in Cardiovascular Medicine, Heart Failure, and Transplantation at BWH, translational research in vascular medicine and diastolic heart failure, and graduate study leading to an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. His current focus is on clinical care of patients with advanced heart disease and clinical research into the pathophysiology, pharmacologic treatment, and ambulatory management of heart failure patients.
