Biography

Dr. Gonsalves is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She has co-authored seventeen papers, authored nine textbook chapters and presented over thirty abstracts at international meetings that focus on eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases. She has also been invited to give twenty nine grand rounds/symposium lectures on the topic of eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders at various national and international meetings and is recognized as one of the leaders in the clinical care and research of adult patients with EGID. She has been a steering committee member of The International Gastrointestinal Eosinophil Researchers (TIGERS) and is one of the coinvestigators in CEGIR (Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Researchers) which is a multidisciplinary research consortium developed to further knowledge about eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders and improve the lives of patients with these disorders. Her main clinical and academic interests are in eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease particularly eosinophilic esophagitis and food allergy and how it relates to the gastrointestinal system.
