Biography

Dr. Gupta is Chief of Infectious Diseases at VA Boston Healthcare System and a Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. She is a clinical investigator with expertise in the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections. Her research topics include UTI, health care associated infections, and multi-drug resistance epidemiology. She serves as Chair of the IDSA Clinical Practice Guidelines on Treatment of UTI in Women and is leading a national VA study comparing effectiveness peri-operative antimicrobial regimens for patients undergoing surgery.
