Biography

Dr. Jacobson is a leading expert in hyperlipidemia, nutrition and drug management of hypercholesterolemia, coronary heart disease risk reduction strategies and clinical practice implementation. He has dedicated his medical career to improving patient outcomes through adherence and behavioral counseling, and implementing risk reduction strategies for clinicians. He currently serves as Professor of Medicine and Director of the Office of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at Emory University in Atlanta. A graduate of the Cornell University Medical School, Dr. Jacobson interned at New York University Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital in New York City. In addition, he completed a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania where he also served as the Director of the Lipid Evaluation and CHD Risk Assessment Center.
