Biography

Dr Miles is Professor of Medicine, University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, KS. He obtained the MD degree from the University of Kansas and did his fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Mayo Clinic. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. His clinical interests include diabetes and its relationship to cardiovascular disease, obesity, lipid disorders and hospital nutritional support. He is a past recipient of the Stanley Dudrick Research Scholar Award of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and was elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation. He has an NIH supported research laboratory that focuses on the study of free fatty acid and triglyceride-rich lipoprotein metabolism.
