Biography

Originally from New York state, Dr. Roach moved to California to begin his pediatrics training at UCLA. He completed both his residency in pediatrics and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. He is now the director of the UCLA Pediatric Blood Disorders Program. Dr. Roach specializes in the research and treatment of benign hematologic disorders including hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease, and other rare bleeding disorders, as well as thrombotic disorders such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and stroke. He also treats patients with hemoglobinopathies including sickle cell disease. In addition to his appointment at UCLA, Dr. Roach provides care for patients with bleeding disorders at the Orthopaedic Hospital Hemophilia Treatment Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
