Biography

Dr. Symes is an Associate Professor of Medicine – Division of Infectious Diseases with the University of Miami Miller School Of Medicine. He completed his medical education at Howard University in 1989, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Medical Center in 1992. Dr. Symes served as Chief Medical Resident at the VA Medical Center in Miami, joining the faculty of the Department of Medicine in 1994, as served as Associate Program Director from 1997 to 2006, followed by Program Director in 2006 to 2015. Dr. Symes has his main clinical activities in HIV and AIDS.
