Biography

Dr. Tenzer is a frequent lecturer at the national level on a variety of topics, including pain management, diabetes, restless legs syndrome, and women's health. A prolific author, she has written numerous articles and book chapters on topics ranging from pain management guidelines to smoking cessation to cultural competency. She has been published in a number of professional journals, including Annals of Family Medicine, The Journal of Family Practice, and Pain Medicine. Dr. Tenzer has been honored with the AAFP's Exemplary Teaching Awards Full-Time Teaching Award, as well as several Golden Apple Awards for excellence in teaching. She was a finalist for the Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Dr. Tenzer served on the board of directors of the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD) from 2001 to 2007. She was elected as president of the AFMRD in June 2004 and completed a three-year term. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians.
