Participants should be able to describe the symptoms of adult ADHD and increase diagnostic accuracy of this condition, including in adults who present with common comorbid conditions, in order to identify those who may benefit from treatment or referral to a specialist; and evaluate different treatment options for adults with ADHD and be able to individualize treatment regimens to improve symptoms, minimize or avoid adverse effects, and promote adherence to therapy.
Participants should be able to identify 2 screening tools that can increase accurate diagnosis and appropriate management of patients with OAB; and list at least 2 nonpharmacologic and 2 pharmacologic treatment options for OAB and discuss efficacy, safety and tolerability.
Participants should be able to list 2 important potential adverse effects of commonly used antihypertensive drugs, and suggest potential ways to avoid them; and describe a therapy that directly inhibits the renin-angiotensin system and has a low rate of angioedema in patients who experience this adverse effect with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
Participants should be able to highlight at least 2 key findings of the study presented in this activity and discuss the applicability of these findings to clinical practice.
Participants should be able to identify causes of frequent hypoglycemia in patients with insulin-treated type 2 diabetes, and describe appropriate counseling and intervention for different causes of hypoglycemia.
