Primary Care Approaches to Managing the Complexities of Diabetes

Diabetes In Depth is a 1-day CME program presented by Pri-Med in collaboration with the American Diabetes Association. At the program, expert faculty will present clinically relevant practice and patient care issues in diabetes diagnosis and treatment. Our interactive sessions and workshops are aimed to better help you educate and manage your diabetic patients.

Session and Workshop Topics Include:

  • Keynote Address: Current Strategies for the Prevention and Management of Cardiometabolic Complications in People With Diabetes
  • Use of Screening and Diagnostic Tools to Identify Patients with/or At Increased Risk for Diabetes
  • The Role of Incretin-Based Therapies in the Management of Diabetic Hyperglycemia
  • Managing Hypertension in Diabetic Patients
  • Team Approaches to Managing Diabetic Complications and Comorbidities: Obesity, Depression, Sleep Apnea, and Diabetic Foot

In addition to the live meeting, the multichannel curriculum includes online activities related to the topics presented. Online activities include patient case studies, expert perspectives, and slide lectures.

Attending will help you understand how to

  • Assess treatment strategies and implement patient-specific directed therapies.
  • Analyze the methods and role of intensive glycemic control through early intervention and treatment advancement.
  • Address multifactorial cardiovascular risk in the patient with diabetes, and strategies to manage cardiometabolic risk factors.
  • Incorporate essential clinical management tools, including self-monitoring of blood glucose, medical nutritional therapy, and patient education.
  • Explore emerging and new perspectives in the treatment of diabetes.
