Margret Amatayakul, a practice management consultant specializing in healthcare informatics, has had a long and varied career in the field, including stints as director of health information management services at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and associate executive director of the American Health Information Management Association. She also helped found and was the first executive director of the Computer-based Patient Record Institute, which is now part of the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society. Margret speaks and writes frequently on healthcare IT topics. She has written books on HIPAA, electronic health records, healthcare finance, and work flow and process improvement.
