Biography

Maya Balakrishnan is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and staff gastroenterologist at Ben Taub Hospital. Her clinical practice spans the breath of general hepatology. She is also an NIH funded clinical researcher. Her research focuses on health behaviors and developing scalable, effective behavioral interventions for patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, with a special emphasis among minority ethnic populations.
