Biography

Dr. Brezina has worked as a hospitalist in the Duke University Health System at Durham Regional Hospital since 2003. She began covering pre-operative and consultative medicine services within the section of Hospital Medicine since 2004, At the present time, 80% of Dr. Brezina's effort is in pre-op/peri-operative management. She has lectured on pre-operative evaluation within her department, at the North Carolina ACP meeting 2011, and also at a national level at the Peri-operative Medicine Summit in Miami in 2011. Her research interest is post-operative hypo-ventilation and peri-operative risk associated with sleep apnea.
