Biography

Dr. Kevin Chan is an epidemiologist and data scientist, who practices clinical nephrology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science before his medical training and received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Epidemiology from Stanford University with his nephrology fellowship training. Dr. Chan is an NIH funded investigator who specializes in computational methods to execute "Big Data" studies using electronic health records. His research in pharmacoepidemiology demonstrates how chronic kidney disease modifies the safety, effectiveness, and prescription of cardiovascular therapies; moreover, his work has informed national guidelines and helped define state-of-the-art practice for cardiovascular disease patients who have renal dysfunction. Dr. Chan is happily married with two sons. He is an amateur woodworking who enjoys building period furniture on his spare time.
