Biography

Dr Cummins is the medical director of inpatient psychiatry services in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Ann and Robert H Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Prior to his work at Children’s Memorial and Northwestern, Dr Cummins served as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr Cummins completed his Child Psychiatry training at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. Dr Cummins’ clinical and research interests include the intensive treatment of severely psychiatrically ill children and adolescents and the utilization of biological markers to try to improve the diagnostic accuracy and early treatment of severe mental illness in children and adolescents.
