Biography

Dr. David obtained her MD degree from the Hebrew University, Hadassah School of Medicine in Jerusalem, Israel in 1988. She completed her Psychiatry Residency training at the Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Department of Psychiatry in June 1993 and served as Chief Resident. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Anxiety Disorders Research at the same institution. In July 1994 she joined the University of Miami as a faculty member, and the Miami VA Healthcare System as the Medical Director of the PTSD Unit. She became Chief of Psychiatry at the Miami VA Healthcare System in April 2011. Dr. David is currently a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, where she also serves as an Associate Training Director of the Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Dr. David is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and served as a Psychiatry Board Examiner for several years. She has conducted funded and non-funded research in the areas of anxiety disorders, PTSD and Psychopharmacology.
