Biography
Dan has been fortunate to be able to contribute to the dramatic evolution of diabetes care from almost every perspective over the past 25 years: ongoing direct outpatient care, inpatient management, clinical research, graduate medical education, scientific advisory boards, medical-legal counsel, investments, medical society leadership, government lobbying, guideline development, and advocacy. He received his BA from Yale (Independent Studies in Public Health), MD from Tufts, and Residency and Fellowship at Harvard (Beth Israel) where he was on the faculty. He has been in San Diego since 1984, and served on multiple boards of this vibrant city. He loves his patients, and has been honored to receive multiple awards from Scripps, Yale, Harvard, the SD Medical Society, the Endocrine Society, and the American College of Endocrinology.
