Biography

Andrew Eisenberger is a hands-on clinical hematologist in a large academic medical center where uncommon diseases are commonplace. His practice involves frequent collaboration with clinicians in other specialties, such as cardiothoracic surgery, obstetrics and transplant physicians. He has built a reputation for helping other physicians recognize and manage the hematologic complications unique to their respective niches. In addition to maintaining an outpatient practice and providing inpatient hematology consultation, Dr. Eisenberger has devoted his career to medical education. His varied efforts include supervision of the medical school’s hematology curriculum, frequent attendance at medical residency case conference, an annual lecture at critical care grand rounds, among many others. His pedagogical approach emphasizes a no-nonsense systematic approach to diagnosis. Dr. Eisenberger’s excellence in providing medical education has been formally recognized at multiple levels at Columbia University Medical Center.
