Biography

Dr. Ghaemi has been an active clinical researcher in the field of depression and bipolar illness for about 25 years. He has published over 200 scientific articles, and over half a dozen books, and is on the editorial board of numerous scientific journals. He is Associate Editor of Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica. He has been an active clinician as well, treating and consulting on well over 1000 patients with depression and bipolar illness. He trained mostly in the Harvard system in psychiatry, and has been on the Harvard faculty for about two decades, and at Tufts for about a decade, in addition to his recent work in early drug development in psychiatry at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research. He also started a monthly newsletter for clinicians, The Psychiatry Letter, three years ago.
