Biography

Robert R. Henry, MD, is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism, Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He is also Chief of both the Section of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes and Director of the Center for Metabolic Research and Network of Dedicated Enrollments Sites at the VA Medical Center in San Diego. Dr Henry received his medical degree from the University of Manitoba School of Medicine, Manitoba, Canada, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology& metabolism. He is a diplomat of The American Board of Internal Medicine, certified in the specialty of Internal Medicine and subspecialty of Endocrinology & Metabolism. He is certified as a specialist in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and is a Master of the American College of Endocrinology and the American College of Nutrition. He is currently certified as Physician and Surgeon by the Medical Board of California. He is a member and Past President of the American Diabetes Association, Medicine and Science (2011), Board member (2013-2016) of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (National and California Chapter), the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, the Obesity Society, the Endocrine Society, Western Society for Clinical Investigation, Western Association of Physicians and the American Federation for Clinical Research.
