Biography

Dr. Soffer is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. His clinical focus is Clinical Lipidology, Preventive Cardiovascular Medicine and General Internal Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and Fellow of the National Lipid Association. Dr. Soffer sits on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Chapter of the National Lipid Association and on the steering committee of the Philadelphia Lipid and Atherosclerosis Club. He earned a BA from University of Pennsylvania and also graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. His internship and residency were completed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has been a full time clinician at his suburban Medical practice in Media PA, splitting his time with Preventive Cardiology since 2006. He lectures regularly for local and national hospitals on various lipid and Preventive Cardiology topics, including lipid/lipoprotein physiology, Familial Hypercholesterolemia and HDL metabolism. He is currently involved in several clinical trials in lipid and cardiovascular disease prevention. He is the lipid disorder chapter editor for online medical resources ACP-PIER and MDConsult.
