Pri-Med Raleigh

Raleigh, NC | December 17-18, 2020

Raleigh Convention Center

Coronavirus Update
Pri-Med is postponing Pri-Med Raleigh, originally scheduled for Tuesday−Wednesday, August 11−12, until Thursday−Friday, December 17−18. The conference will remain at Raleigh Convention Center.

Due to the magnitude of the unanticipated public health and safety issues posed by the rapidly escalating COVID-19 outbreaks and contagion, it would be an unacceptable risk to our community of supporters and healthcare professionals to bring hundreds of people together.

The health, safety, and well-being of our community, exhibitors, faculty, and staff are our top priority. With an ever-increasing number of primary care professionals on the frontlines of preparing and reacting to the COVID-19 outbreak, postponement of Pri-Med Raleigh became unavoidable. We hope that rescheduling will ensure that our community is able to do what they do best—help and heal.

Our postponement decision was also driven by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) announcement that mass gatherings should be postponed or cancelled across the country. Follow this link for the latest CDC COVID-19 update on mass gatherings: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/large-events/mass-gatherings-ready-for-covid-19.html.

In the coming weeks and months, Pri-Med will continue to monitor the situation closely and consult with our Clinical Advisory Board, the global teams of our parent company, and healthcare organizations including the CDC for any new or heightened risks. We will continue to apply evidence-based decision-making to ensure the continued safety of the healthcare community planning to assemble for Pri-Med Raleigh.

If you have registered to attend Pri-Med Raleigh in August, we have already transferred your registration to the new December dates.

If you cannot attend the new December dates, please contact us at support@pri-med.com or call 844-300-6340 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm ET). We will refund your conference fees in full or transfer your registration to another conference.

Strategies for Effective Pain Management

The nation is facing competing public health issues: the need to adequately treat a large number of Americans with acute and chronic pain, and a crisis of prescription opioid abuse. Pri-Med’s Strategies for Effective Pain Management curriculum focuses on improving clinicians ability to recognize, diagnose, and classify pain; educating clinicians on the full spectrum of pain management options, including non-opioid pharmacologic interventions; and providing risk reduction strategies through integration of opioids into individualized pain management plans. Clinicians will also learn to recognize signs and symptoms of opioid dependence and abuse to better manage patients’ pain and medication use. It is critically important that clinicians have all the information they need to properly treat their patients and safely manage their pain.

Key Learning Areas

  • Non-pharmacologic approaches to pain management
  • Non-opioid approaches to pain management
  • Acute pain
  • Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and an addiction primer

Strategies for Effective Pain Management is a MIPS- and MOC-approved activity.
