Safe and Effective Prescribing of Controlled Substances in Florida | February 7, 2019

The Florida Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

The Florida Medical Association designates this live activity for a maximum of three (3) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits­™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

The content of this 3-hour course encompasses the required course for all DEA-authorized prescribers in Florida, including allopathic physicians, osteopathic physicians, dentists, podiatrists, and optomtrists. In addition, this course satisfies the required controlled substance prescribing training for PAs and APRNs in Florida.

Claim Credits

Please follow the instructions below for evaluating and claiming continuing education credit or certificate of attendance for the sessions you attended at this Pri-Med meeting:


1. Scan your conference badge daily. Proceed to the Registration Area to receive your badge. You will need to scan your badge at the check-in counters outside the CME session rooms or in the Registration Area upon arrival every day at the conference to verify your attendance. On your first day of attendance, your badge printing serves as your scan for that day. Scanning your badge will allow you access to the evaluation system and to request credit. 

2.Go to www.pri-med.com/south/eval to access the online session evaluation and credit request system. You can use any computer or internet interactive device to complete the evaluation and credit request process. You have four days to complete the process - until Thursday, February 14, 2019. Pri-Med staff can assist you with any questions you may have and a limited number of computers will be available in the registration area each afternoon to complete your evaluations.

  • Enter your badge number and email address located on your badge for identification.
  • To evaluate each session, select the day, the session title, and then complete the evaluation. 
  • Designate the type of credit you seek. Then check the box above the statement that attests to the sessions you attended. 

3. Receive your credit. View and print your certificate from the evaluation website. Your certificate will also be posted to your Pri-Med.com account the next day. If you have questions after the meeting, call us at: 844-300-6339 (Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm ET).
