The Southern Diabetes Initiative: Updates and Best Practices to Empower the Frontlines of Care
Launched shortly after the CDC identified the Diabetes Belt, an area in the Southern U.S. with high rates of diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular risk, The Southern Diabetes Initiative is a one-day continuing medical education (CME/CE) conference designed to meet the educational needs of primary care clinicians like you – those at the frontlines of managing diabetes and comorbid disease.
This year’s brand-new curriculum will create an interactive and engaging experience, led by world-renowned clinical experts who will address the cultural impact on diabetes risk and management; share the latest medical findings; and give recommendations on how to handle the challenges you face while empowering your patients to practice preventive behavior and proper disease management.
The Southern Diabetes Initiative curriculum has been designed to encourage interaction between expert faculty and attendees to facilitate discussions on the latest clinical guidelines and therapeutic developments in the fields of diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic disease. New conference features include:
• Hands-on demonstrations
• iPad-based interactive audience engagement technology
• Panel discussions
• Problem-based workshops
• Small group learning
