Spotting the Difference: Common Dermatologic Rashes and Infections

Description

What skin conditions can be managed by primary care providers? This session will review distinguishing characteristics of benign versus malignant neoplasms. We will also discuss the common conditions of acne, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis and eczema with some common and not so common treatments. As to the less common conditions of lupus, psoriasis, urticaria and itch, treatment plans will be given so that physicians can move in a step by step way to diagnose and treat these conditions.

  • Recognize adult acne and rosacea and develop treatment plan
  • Recognize and treat moderate seborrhea
  • Develop an understanding of the new various treatments for psoriasis
  • Build a treatment plan for itch for the elderly
  • Recognize serious dermatologic conditions that require referral
