The ELF® Test: A Simple Blood Test to Measure Risk of Progression in Patients With MASH

Overview

This presentation provides an overview of metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH), highlighting their high prevalence, often silent progression to advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis, and strong association with cardiometabolic conditions commonly managed in primary care. The Enhanced Liver Fibrosis (ELF®) Test, alongside the Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) index, can help primary care clinicians routinely evaluate liver fibrosis and assess the likelihood of progression to cirrhosis and liver-related events, thereby informing clinical decision-making.
