Overview

Obesity treatment is changing quickly, and primary care is where most of it happens. New medications, new formulations, and a growing pipeline have widened the options for patients and raised new questions for the clinicians who prescribe them. This session gives PCPs a practical update on the current treatment landscape, including managing side effects and monitoring for safety concerns with long term use.

  • Describe the current approved options for obesity pharmacotherapy and how they differ
  • Apply a practical approach to starting, monitoring, and adjusting therapy in primary care
  • Recognize and manage common side effects and important safety concerns
