Biography

Kenneth A. Alexander, MD, PhD, is chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Alexander completed his medical training and earned his doctoral degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington, before moving to Boston, Massachusetts, for his pediatric residency at Boston Children’s Hospital. He then completed subspecialty training in pediatric infectious diseases at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he served on the faculty for 10 years. Dr. Alexander served as chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Chicago for 9 years prior to relocating to Nemours Children’s Hospital in 2014. Dr. Alexander is a professor of pediatrics at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, also in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Alexander’s clinical interests include promotion of immunization among underserved communities; he has a research laboratory at which his research team studies human papillomaviruses.
