Biography

Dr Brennan is Medical Director of The Pain Center of Fairfield in Fairfield, Connecticut. He is also Associate Director of Chronic Pain and Addiction at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut. Dr Brennan received his medical degree from The State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn. He completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical Center in New York City, after which he became the acting chief of Rehabilitation Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Brennan’s interests lie in the management of pain and in the disability of patients suffering from neurological disorders, cancer and various cancer treatments. He has published widely on the treatment of cancer-related disabilities, also on the assessment and management of chronic noncancer pain and breakthrough pain. Dr Brennan serves on the REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) Task Force of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R). A diplomate of AAPM&R, Dr Brennan is a recipient of its Conrad Jobst Award for outstanding research in vascular medicine.
