Biography
Catherine Chien MD, AAHIVS earned her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, then moved to Los Angeles where she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. With an interest in HIV primary care, she subsequently did an HIV fellowship at AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), then spent the next 11 years caring for people living with HIV at the AHF Downtown Healthcare Center. In 2014, she transitioned from clinical practice to Gilead Sciences and is currently Senior Director/Regional Medical Expert in the West Region. She continues to fulfill her passion for patient care by volunteering once a week at the AIDS Project Los Angeles clinic where, for the past 10 years, she has cared for a small panel of people living with HIV.
