Biography

Dr. Deutsch is the Medical Director for the UCSF Gender Affirming Health Program, and a Professor of Clinical Family & Community Medicine at the University of California – San Francisco. Dr. Deutsch has cared for thousands of transgender patients since 2006. She has more than 50 peer reviewed publications in areas of gender affirming and transgender health, and has authored or co-authored numerous textbook chapters. She is currently the President of the US Professional Association for Transgender Health, and on the Board of Directors of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. She was the lead author for the chapter on Primary Care in the recent WPATH 8th Version Standards of Care.
