Dr. Khalilah Gates is a pulmonary and critical care specialist at Northwestern Medicine and Assistant Dean of Medical Education. She received her bachelor of science at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Gates completed her medical school training at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and remained at Loyola to complete her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine. She went on to complete her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Northwestern McGaw. Upon completion of her fellowship training, Dr. Gates remained as faculty at Northwestern. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she serves as the co-director of the intensive care clerkship for Feinberg medical students. She also serves as the faculty lead for the inclusion and bias task force at Feinberg School of Medicine.
