Biography

"Dr Gerich is a professor of medicine and director of the General Clinical Research Center at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society, the International Diabetes Federation, and the Association of American Physicians, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Diabetes and Its Complications, Endocrine Reviews, Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolism, the Journal of Physiology, and the American Journal of Medicine, and is currently an editor of Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice. Dr Gerich has over 460 publications, including a chapter in Ellenberg and Rifkin’s Diabetes Mellitus (6th ed) and articles in Experimental and Clinical Endocrinology & Diabetes, Clinics in Laboratory Medicine, Diabetes Care, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of Clinical Investigation and has lectured around the world, recently on the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes."
