Biography

Dr. Nilesh “Neil” Gokal is a family physician and physician leader focused on quality, clinician experience, and physician wellness. He serves as Senior Medical Director of Quality Education & IPA at SMA OptumCare NV and is Associate Program/Site Director for the Valley Health System Family Medicine Residency, and he teaches as an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Roseman University of Health Sciences. He earned his MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine and a BS in Biomedical (Biochemical) Engineering from the University of Southern California. Dr. Gokal is a published speaker and educator on prevention, screening, and population health, and he frequently serves as a physician resource for media outlets including Channel 3 News, Channel 8 News, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Univision, and Beasley Broadcasting. He is also active in community service, including volunteering with the Medical Reserve Corps of Southern Nevada and mentoring with the Clark County School District. His recognitions include the Winged Heart Award (Nevada Physician Wellness Coalition, 2024), Vegas INC Top Doctor Award (2023), and the Healthcare Hero Award (NV Business Magazine, 2021).
