Judith Holmes

Biography

Judy Holmes received her BA in psychology from Colorado College, and her JD degree from the University of Denver. She has practiced law for more than 30 years and has extensive trial experience, defending both healthcare providers in medical negligence cases and employers in employment-related suits. Her practice currently focuses on employment law, primarily for healthcare providers. She regularly advises physicians and clinics on compliance and risk reduction strategies, and she also works with physicians on deposition skills when they are involved in malpractice claims. Judy has served as the vice president of both the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations and has served as a delegate to the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Colorado Bar Association. She is past president of Continuing Legal Education of Colorado, and has served as chair of the Judiciary section of the Colorado Bar Association and as vice president of the Denver Victims Service Center. Judy is a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, teaching trial and deposition skills to attorneys nationally. She is coauthor of The Rocky Mountain Employer, and has authored numerous publications on risk management and employment law issues. She is a frequent speaker on many employment and healthcare related topics.
