Biography

Dr. Holt graduated from Loyola University Chicago with an MD PhD completing his graduate studies in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University and served as the Chief Medical Resident. He did his fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington and is now an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami and Miami VA Medical Center. Clinically, he specializes in the diagnosis of lung cancer and work up of abnormal chest imaging including evaluation of solitary pulmonary nodules. He performs advanced bronchoscopy including electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, indwelling tunneled pleural catheters and endobronchial valves for the treatment of COPD. Academically, his research interests include use of imaging modalities for the efficient work up of abnormal chest imaging and the development of nanoparticles to selectively transfect lung tumors to improve upon their characteristically immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.
