Biography

Dr. Hunt is a VA primary care provider who has been providing post-combat care for returning combat Veterans for nearly 20 years. His Deployment Health Clinic at VA Puget Sound has evaluated and provided ongoing care for over 1500 Veterans from the Gulf War I and over 4500 Veterans from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The clinic model was designated as "best practices" for post-combat care in VA in 2006 and since 2008 Dr. Hunt has been the National Director of the VA Post-Deployment Integrated Care Initiative, training and supporting VA staff nationwide who have implemented similar Veteran centered, team based models of integrated post-combat care. He is board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, having focused his training on the health effects of military service as an occupation and combat as an environment.
