Biography
Deborah A.F. Kahal, MD, FACP, MPH, FIDSA Delaware County Health Department Delaware County, PA Thomas Jefferson University Philadelphia, PA Dr. Kahal is a Physician Consultant at the Delaware County Health Department and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. Board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, she counts implementation science, HIV and HCV care cascades, pre-exposure prophylaxis, engagement and retention in care, expanded access to HIV care, and HCV specialty care among her areas of interest, all with a focus on the care of persons of color. Dr. Kahal earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. Her postgraduate training includes a residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington/Harborview Medical Center and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Tulane University School of Public Health. Dr. Kahal’s professional memberships include the American Academy of HIV Medicine, American College of Physicians, HIV Medicine Association, and Infectious Diseases Society of America.
