Biography

Dr. Kaplan is currently Professor and Vice-Chairman for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of the Infectious Disease Service at Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. Kaplan has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles and is a co-editor of the Textbook of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, 5th Ed. His research interests include antibiotic resistance and bacterial meningitis. Dr. Kaplan is the immediate Past-President of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.
