Biography

Dr. Kleinman is a practicing pediatrician and health services researcher who is widely known for his work in measuring and improving the quality of health care, especially for children. He has published landmark papers on the quality of pediatric care, developed innovative performance measures for the private sector, and along with Dr. Charlie Homer articulated the first integrated conceptual framework for measuring the quality of children’s health care. He directs Mount Sinai’s Primary Care Research Fellowship Program (a HRSA funded T32), is co-director of MSSM’s CTSA community engagement core, and is Director of an AHRQ-CMS CHIPRA Center of Excellence as part of the federal Pediatric Quality Measures Program.
