Biography

Silvina Levis, MD, is Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and an Investigator at the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. She developed and directed the Osteoporosis Center at both institutions (1992-2016) where she conducts clinical research, provides patient and professional education and clinical care for patients with osteoporosis, including densitometry. Dr. Levis served as chair of the State of Florida’s Osteoporosis Education and Prevention Advisory Council, as a member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research’s Professional Practice Committee and the NIH Aging Systems and Geriatrics Study Section.
