Biography

Dr. Eric Mizuno is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School following completion of his residency there in 1992. He is actively involved in medical student and internal medicine residency education in both the outpatient and inpatient settings and has received outstanding teaching evaluations and awards. Dr. Mizuno is an original member of a 4 member internal medicine practice that has grown to a multiple office, multispecialty primary care based practice that now includes nearly 100 physicians and 250,000 active patients. Dr. Mizuno has worked as an advisor and has lectured on a local, regional and national level in a variety of disease states including hypertension, gout, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, mood disorder, allergic rhinitis, migraine, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis and GERD. Dr. Mizuno is a more recent participant in the American Society of Hypertension where he has served on their primary care faculty and is a faculty member on the national gout standard of care consensus committee with the American Society of Clinical Rheumatologists. . Amongst his proudest and meaningful experiences is medical disaster relief volunteer work performed in the immediate post Katrina relief efforts in New Orleans and also in the immediate post earthquake efforts in Haiti. He is also an avid motorcyclist.
