Biography

Dr. Moreno is Chair and Associate Professor of Family Medicine at UCLA. He serves as chair elect of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). He is a family physician with a practice in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. He received his MD and master’s degree from UCLA and completed his post-doctoral fellowship in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program. His areas of expertise include health equity and disparities in health and healthcare, diabetes in older adults, the evaluation of health system primary care interventions, physician workforce diversity and medical education programs. Dr. Moreno has published clinical guidelines on diabetes among older adults and studies that have increased our understanding of health equity, linguistic diversity in healthcare, and the social drivers of health. He has a continuity clinic in Los Angeles and trains family medicine residents and medical students at UCLA.
