Biography

Robert Morris, PharmD, US Medical Director, HIV Prevention, brings to ViiV Healthcare a richly diverse background, having excelled as an accomplished professional in pharmacy, medical affairs operations management, HCP engagement relations, and medical information. His interest and expertise in HIV are conveyed in his deep commitment to delivering relevant and accurate information to healthcare professionals for informed decision-making. Through his work, Bob wants to increase PrEP awareness through the development of impactful scientific resources, relationship building, and strong community outreach to support our mission to leave no patient behind. Current Role: Bob joined ViiV in April 2018 as the HCP Engagement and Operations Director, where he developed a core infrastructure to support the operation and execution of NAMA advice seeking activities. In addition, Bob oversaw the implementation of the first ViiV Healthcare Scientific Exchange meeting at the 2018 AIDS meeting in Amsterdam. In 2019, Bob led the effort in converting all advisory meetings to a virtual format (in less than 24 hours for the first CROI ad board). Through this he also ushered in the Zoom platform to optimally support NAMA virtual engagements. Bob has also served as the US congress lead for the VIiV global congress initiative. In 2022, Bob joined the Prevention medical team to serve as the US Medical Director. Experience: Prior to joining ViiV, Bob worked in Medical Information at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina for a combined total of 7 years, where he developed expertise in several key therapeutic areas including neurology, urology, and metabolic medicines. Most of this time was spent as the medical reviewer for development of commercial assets for copy approval. He has also served as the Medical Information Manager for Immunology and Medical Information Director for HIV and Dermatology where he helped launch Tivicay and Triumeq. Most recently with GSK, Bob served as the medical lead for the Asset Collaboration Team for Arnuity which was the groundbreaking pilot for optimizing the ways of working for the copy approval process. Additional work experiences include serving as the Clinical CME Director for Medscape where he provided medical validation for continuing medical education programs across multiple disease states for the world’s largest internet provider of CME. He also increased pharmacist participation and certification by 400% through the identification and development of interprofessional activities. Bob began his career as a clinical pharmacist in pediatric oncology at Nemours Children’s clinic in Orlando, FL. He subsequently transitioned to adult oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando FL where he served as the clinical consultant for medical management, supportive care, and patient education. He also helped develop a standardized antiemetic protocol across solid and liquid tumor regimens. Education: Bob earned his BS in pharmacy from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. He later earned his PharmD degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Personal Interests: Bob lives in Apex, NC with his husband and 3 fur babies.
